120 Heartfelt Holiday Cards to Seniors

At Volunteering for Seniors, every day is an opportunity to create connections and spread joy in the lives of our elderly community. On December 20th, 2024, we’re excited to share a heartwarming project led by our core volunteer, Malathy Sankaran, whose dedication brought smiles to both students and seniors. Reflecting on this initiative, Malathy shared:
“Empathy is something that I strive for my students to have. One of the ways it can be taught is by giving. My volunteer group was excited when I presented the project of writing cards to senior citizens. Some could relate to their grandparents, and some could not, as they had none. Some of them poured their heart out in these cards to make a connection with a senior. It was heartwarming to see them write the cards. Through Volunteering for Seniors, I connected with the senior centers to deliver these cards.”

Thanks to Malathy’s dedication, 120 heartfelt cards are being delivered today—half to the Walpole Senior Center and the other half to the Norfolk Senior Center—spreading holiday cheer and countless smiles!
This initiative perfectly reflects our mission to engage the community in meaningful ways and bring happiness to our seniors. A big thank you to Malathy and the talented students for their beautiful contributions! Together, we continue to brighten the days of those who mean so much to us.
